Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide is a form of sedation that is administered through a small mask that is placed over the patient’s nose before beginning treatment. The colorless and odorless gas begins to quickly take effect once inhaled, allowing the person to become more fully relaxed. With slight tingling sensations and feelings of warmth, the patient remains calm throughout treatment so that our team can work more efficiently. Once the mask is removed, the effects quickly dissipate so that the patient can resume normal activity following their appointment.
Intraoral Camera
Our intraoral camera serves as a diagnostic and educational device, as it allows Dr. Mandi to not only see areas of a patient’s smile more clearly but also teach individuals about the state of their oral health. A little larger than a pen, it includes a small camera that captures high-resolution images of the mouth, making it easier to pinpoint problem areas. If or when any are found, Dr. Mandi can easily show the patient on a chairside monitor and explain the importance of treatment.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays are an updated form of traditional radiographs that produce higher-resolution images in seconds and expose patients to less radiation (up to 90%). Unlike those used in the past that required dentists to spend valuable time in a dark room, using harsh chemicals to produce necessary images, digital X-rays allow for faster production and clearer imagery so that problems forming below the gumline are visible and more easily detected.
